| Movement 101 |

| Movement 101 is an introductory class on the basics of social change theory. We will discuss how the systems of oppression: capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy, heterosexism, and transphobia have shaped our world and impacted our people. We’ll also study the histories of freedom movements around the world – focusing on the freedom struggle in South Africa - to develop a strategic vision for building our movement today. SOUL prioritizes the participation of working-class people, particularly members of grassroots organizations-- including young people, women, people of color, queer and transgender people, and folks currently engaged in full-time organizing work.
